    2026 review: Qualifying disabled veterans and eligible survivors may receive property-tax reimbursement calculated on up to $175,000 of primary-home market value. This is not an exemption or a $175,000 payment, and this category has no income limit. Apply through the county trustee/city collecting official using F-16 or F-16S; return later renewal vouchers and pay any balance.

    Tennessee education benefits

    Tennessee has a qualifying survivor/POW/MIA dependent tuition-and-fee waiver and a separate STRONG Act last-dollar reimbursement program for serving Tennessee Guard members. Neither is a blanket free-college benefit for all veterans or all dependents.

    2026 review: Type 198 is a one-time $10 resident hunting/fishing license plus processing fees, not a free Lifetime Sportsman License. Its application requires 30%+ war-service disability or 100% permanent-and-total service-connected disability.
