Ohio property tax benefits
Tax year 2026: qualifying veterans with a 100% service-connected rating or compensation based on individual unemployability may receive homestead tax relief based on $58,000 of home market value, with no income limit. This is not a $58,000 payment or a complete property-tax exemption. File DTE 105I with your county auditor. SB 92 remained a proposal at the September 5, 2026 review.
Ohio education benefits
Ohio GI Promise provides qualifying military students an in-state tuition classification, not free college. The Ohio Guard scholarship and War Orphan and Severely Disabled Veterans' Children Scholarship have separate service, student, school and application rules; approval and current-year funding must be confirmed.
Ohio recreation benefits
September 2026 review: eligible resident veterans and former POWs need ODVS certification for the five-year hunting/fishing approval, then actual licenses annually. Free camping requires a separate ODNR credential in the applicant account. A 100% rating alone is not proof of permanent-and-total status, and DV plates alone do not establish camping eligibility.
