North Dakota property tax benefits
2026: qualifying 50%+ service-connected disability or IU paid at 100% reduces homestead taxable value by up to $4,500-$9,000, not the tax bill by that amount. Special assessments remain. File SFN 24770 with the county; the ordinary April 1 deadline has passed, so ask about late relief. A separate paraplegic/VA-adapted-housing exemption concerns up to $120,000 of improvements, not land.
North Dakota education benefits
North Dakota's dependent tuition waiver can cover qualifying children and spouses, including specified survivors, at public ND schools through a bachelor's degree. Apply to the school. Guard tuition assistance is a separate program; do not assume the old 25%/75% split.
North Dakota recreation benefits
Resident veterans with 50%+ service-related disability can buy separate $10 hunting and $10 fishing products, plus one $2 annual certificate. The veteran hunting product does not include fishing. A separate free lifetime park-entry permit is available to qualifying 50%+ residents; entrance relief does not include camping.
