    Nevada military retirement pay tax

    Nevada has no state income tax. Military retirement pay is not taxed by the state.

    Eligibility: 100% SC disability rating, OR combined SC rating totaling 100%, OR VA/DoD certification of total-and-permanent SC disability (NRS 482.377/482.0962).

    Registration, parking, and toll notes

    Exempt from parking fees (including metered) at any NV state/local government-owned facility statewide.

    No dedicated disabled-veteran toll program confirmed in Nevada.

    Nevada property tax benefits

    Fiscal year 2026-2027: qualifying permanent service-connected disability allows $18,200 assessed value at 60-79%, $27,300 at 80-99%, or $36,400 at 100%. These are not cash payments. Apply to your county assessor; splitting between property and vehicle tax is allowed. The 2026 real-property filing dates have passed; confirm the applicable year and renewal.

    Nevada education benefits

    NSHE Purple Heart waivers cover qualifying fees after that semester's federal benefits, including a qualifying-child route. Nevada Guard members have a separate campus-approved registration/lab waiver with term and continuation limits.

    Qualifying Nevada residents with 50%+ service-connected disability may buy the $15 annual NDOW combination hunting/fishing license; it is not free. State Parks separately offers a $30 annual permit for qualifying permanent service-connected disability, with reservation, hookup and special-event fees excluded.
