    Arizona military retirement pay tax

Military retirement pay is exempt from Arizona income tax.

    Arizona disabled veteran license plate

Eligibility: Any AZ resident veteran with a VA-certified disabling condition or disability discharge. 100% rating unlocks the tax/fee exemption specifically.

How to apply: Disability–Hearing Impaired Plate/Placard Application + Special Plate Application, or order online via the ADOT plate portal.

Agency: Motor Vehicle Division (MVD), policy support Dept. of Veterans’ Services

    Registration, parking, and toll notes

100% rating: vehicle license tax + registration fee exemption on one vehicle. The ISA (wheelchair) symbol is automatically included on AZ DV plates — parking privileges with no extra step. Bonus: free AZ driver’s license renewal at 100%.

No dedicated disabled-veteran toll program confirmed in Arizona.

    Arizona property tax benefits

Tax year 2026: a 100% service-connected VA rating may qualify a primary residence for full exemption, subject to income, residency, and county approval. Other eligible disabled veterans receive a prorated exemption; the assessed-value cap does not apply to veteran exemptions. Income-limit removal and TDIU expansion apply starting tax year 2027, not 2026. Apply through your county assessor.

    Arizona education benefits

Arizona's tuition waiver has specific Purple Heart, Guard and survivor routes; a 100% rating alone does not qualify. ADVS must verify eligibility before an eligible Arizona public college applies covered undergraduate tuition. Fees, books and living costs are not automatically covered.

    Arizona recreation benefits

September 2026 review: after one year of Arizona domicile, compensated veterans may qualify for the free 100%-disability combination license or a reduced-fee license; Purple Heart recipients have a separate discount. Apply through AZGFD. Parks have a separate free/discounted day-use program, not free camping; a hunting license is not a parks pass.
