Oklahoma military retirement pay tax
Oklahoma exempts military retirement and up to $10,000 of other retirement income — treated as exempt here.
Oklahoma disabled veteran license plate
Eligibility: Plate: 50%+ SC disability rating, OR VA grant for a specially adapted vehicle, OR lost a limb/eye. Toll exemption specifically requires 100% (stricter than the plate).
How to apply: Online OK State Benefit Request → Reduced Licensing Charge Card (Form 599) → mail Form 599 + Form 751-J to Service Oklahoma, PO Box26940, OKC OK 73126. For the toll exemption, the DV plate serves as proof — contact OTA for current PikePass enrollment.
Agency: Service Oklahoma (plates); Oklahoma Turnpike Authority/PikePass (tolls)
Registration, parking, and toll notes
Reduced annual registration fee ($5) for 50%+ rated veterans.
Real, brand-new program (effective Nov. 1, 2025, per SB64): 100%-rated veterans with the DV plate ride Oklahoma turnpikes toll-free. Very recent — confirm current PikePass enrollment steps directly with OTA.
Oklahoma property tax benefits
2026: qualifying permanent service-connected disability at 100%, including qualifying payment at the 100% rate, can exempt the full fair cash value of an owner-occupied homestead. Apply with Form 998 to the county assessor. The ordinary March 15 deadline has passed; current-year adjustments may be available, but applications for previous years are prohibited. Form 998-B is for a qualifying replacement homestead, not every new purchase.
Oklahoma education benefits
Oklahoma Guard EAP supports eligible members' resident tuition and approved fees through a master's degree. Heroes Promise is a separate survivor-child scholarship, not a blanket waiver for children of 100% disabled veterans. Program, school and award approval are required.
Oklahoma recreation benefits
Resident veterans rated 60%+ have a basic hunting/fishing license exemption; 100% also exempts deer licenses. The optional disabled-veteran lifetime combination license costs $25 at 60%+ or $200 below 60%, with separate verification. Other permits may remain required. Qualifying resident veterans have a separate park-admission benefit, not free camping.
