Oregon property tax benefits
2026: qualifying applicants may exempt $27,092 or $32,512 of homestead assessed value, not receive that amount in cash. The higher tier covers qualifying service-connected disability of 40%+; the lower tier also has non-service-connected and survivor paths. Only the physician-certified route has the 185% poverty-guideline income test and annual filing. File Form 150-303-086 with the county assessor; ordinary April 1 filing has passed, with limited exceptions.
Oregon education benefits
Eligible dependents may receive a tuition-only waiver at Oregon public universities; the child age limit is now 31 with specified master's exceptions. Campus application and approval are required. A veteran's in-state tuition classification is separate.
Oregon recreation benefits
After six months of Oregon residency, a VA/Armed Forces overall disability rating of 25%+ can qualify for a free hunting/fishing/shellfish combination license, renewed annually. State Parks has a separate resident service-connected-disability pass with no 25% minimum; its current camping limit is four nights per calendar month, not ten.
