2026: qualifying permanent-and-total service-connected disability or 100% compensation due to individual unemployability may qualify for a $445,000 assessed-value deduction, not a cash payment. Ownership, principal-residence and income rules apply: 2024 household federal AGI must be below $163,500. Start with MOVA; this does not stack with ordinary homestead relief.

DC Guard members may qualify for DC Tuition Assistance under the current fiscal-year policy. FY2026 allows up to $20,500 subject to funding and school eligibility. Apply before courses begin; payment goes to the school, not the veteran.
District of Columbia recreation benefits
September 2026 review: DC fishing generally requires a paid calendar-year license for ages 16-64; the published exemptions are age-based, not based on veteran status. Apply online through DOEE and carry the issued license. A federal Military Lifetime Pass is separate and does not authorize fishing or cover camping.
