The summary uses the highest selected example per condition, not a complete evaluation. It cannot resolve overlapping diagnoses, separate ratings, or medical findings. Do not count the same limitation twice under related guides such as hand/fingers or hip/thigh. VA evaluates the full record.

⚔️ Universal rules — true for every condition

    • Describe typical function and flare-ups. Explain frequency, duration, and additional limitations accurately. Do not present an unusual worst day as your everyday condition.
    • Report pain accurately. Tell the examiner when pain begins, and do not force movement beyond what you can safely do.
    • Connect symptoms to function. "I can't sit through a movie," "I miss work twice a month," "my spouse helps me dress" — functional impact drives the rating.
    • Never minimize. Military culture trains you to push through. That instinct costs veterans accurate ratings. Be truthful about the bad days.
    • This is educational. VetOps is not VA, a VSO, or a medical provider. Answer the examiner truthfully; this tool helps you prepare, not script.
